Knox's Hometown Christmas Peppermint Parade

The holiday season is just around the corner, and the City of Knox invites everyone to celebrate the magic of Christmas at the annual Hometown Christmas Peppermint Parade on Saturday, December 6, 2025, beginning at 4:00 p.m. CST. The parade will travel through downtown Knox, filling the streets with lights, music, and plenty of holiday spirit. Parade participants should arrive early, as line-up begins at 3:30 p.m.

Sponsored by Mayor Dennis Estok, the Peppermint Parade is a cherished community tradition that brings together families, friends, and neighbors to celebrate the season. There is no entry fee to participate, but all floats, vehicles, and walking groups must be decorated to reflect the festive theme and help make this year’s parade the brightest one yet. The deadline to submit entries is Wednesday, November 26th. Late entries will not be accepted, so be sure to get your application in on time to secure your spot.

When the parade concludes, everyone is encouraged to gather outside the Nancy J. Dembowski Community Center for the annual Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony. The Knox Concert Choir will perform traditional carols before the tree lighting, adding to the warm holiday atmosphere.

Santa Claus will also make a special appearance during the parade and will be ready to greet children inside the Community Center after the tree lighting. Families are welcome to bring their own cameras to capture those special moments with Santa.

For more information about the event, parade applications, and route details, please visit the Peppermint Parade page under our calendar of events. Come out and join your friends and neighbors as we celebrate the spirit of the season in downtown Knox.
