Hydrant Flushing

The City of Knox Water Department crews will begin flushing fire hydrants in the evenings from 9 pm – 5 am throughout the city beginning on Sunday, April 5th and continue through Thursday, April 9th.

As a result of the hydrant flushing, tap water may appear brown. The water is safe to drink and can be cleared up by running cold water from a bathtub or outside faucet. If you have any questions, please contact the Mayor’s office at 574-772-4553 or the Water Department at 574-772-3032.
