Call Out for Letters of Interest for Boards and Commissions Members

The City of Knox is looking for residents within City limits to fill seats on the on the following Boards and Commissions:

Park Board

Interested applicants should show interest and knowledge of the park system and maintaining the amenities. Must have enthusiasm to move the park forward and show creativity for bringing new ideas for park programs. Party affiliation is determined by the most recent primary election in which the individual voted, or letter of support provided by the party chairman.

Plan Commission

Interested applicants should have a strong willingness to research and understand local policies, ordinances, and state laws (IC36-7-4). Primary duties are to develop and recommend a plan for the community’s future and administer land use regulations consistent with Indiana law. Participate in preparation and review of the community’s Comprehensive Plan and subsequent updates. Approval of development plans, site plans and planned unit development. Approval or denial of proposals for land (plats) based on compliance with the subdivision control ordinance.

BZA

As a member of the BZA you will serve as a part of a quasi-judicial board responsible for hearing and making decisions on appeals regarding the application of zoning laws and ordinances with the municipality. Interested applicants should have a basic understanding of local zoning ordinances, land use regulations, and development practices and is highly preferred.
