Notice of Public Hearing

On or about April 15, 2020, the City of Knox intends to apply to the Indiana Office of Community and Rural Affairs for a grant from the State Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) COVID-19 Response Program. This program is funded by Title I of the federal Housing and Community Development Act of 1974, as amended. These funds are to be used for an economic development project which will include the following activities: providing grants to businesses to retain low-to-moderate jobs by granting working capital to continue operations and supporting remote work. The amount of CDBG funds proposed to be used for activities that will benefit low- and moderate-income persons is $127,500. The total amount of CDBG funds being requested is $250,000. The Applicant does not anticipate spending non-CDBG funds on the project. If non-CDBG funds are used on the project they will be derived from: CEDIT Fund.

The City of Knox will hold a public hearing on Monday, May 4, 2020 at 5:00 p.m. to provide interested parties an opportunity to express their views on the proposed federally funded CDBG project. The public hearing will be held by conference call. The call-in number is 515-604-9094 with an access code of 125829. A plan to minimize displacement and provide assistance to those displaced has been prepared by the City of Knox and is also available to the public.
