The Knox City Plan Commission is responsible for the following:

• Issuing building permits
• Conducting Public Hearings For Zoning and Variances
• Rental Registrations and Rental Inspections within the city limits only
• Land Use
• Building Use
• Occupancy Permits
• Fence Permits
• Planning Reviews
• Sub-Divisions

• Yard Sale Permits are now available at the Knox City Clerk's Office
•     1-2 Day Permit $5.00
•     3-4 Day Permit $10.00
•     Maximum of 10 Sales Days per Year

Permit Fees:

Building	$1.00 per Thousand of Building Cost, or Minimum of $30.00
Occupancy Permit	$10.00 per location, non-transferable
Storm Water Ordinance Books	$10.00
Fence & Storage Buildings under 100 Square Feet	$20.00 Over 100 Square Feet $30.00
Rental Registration in the City Limits only	$10.00 per unit, renewable every 2 years
Legal Publication for variance hearings	$25.00

 Currently Contractors are to file a Certificate of Insurance "To the City of Knox"
